Before you show up at Citizen Service, you must choose a MitID user ID (bring it). It is enough to write this on a piece of paper, if you have not started the MitID creation process online.
A user ID for MitID must meet the following criteria to be approved:
- It must contain 5–48 characters.
- It can only contain these characters (the same character may appear multiple times): abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyzæøå0123456789 {}! # $ ^, * () _ + - =:;?. @ and spaces.
- It must not be the same as your CPR number or consist of 10 numbers.
- It must not start or end at intervals.
- It must not be occupied by another MitID user.
Remember that your user ID is not the same as your password.
We recommend that you make more than one in case your preferred user ID is not available.
